Description

This is a research-grade microscope designed for observing transparent and translucent biological samples such as smears and cross-sections in transmitted light using the brightfield method. With the installation of optional accessories, the microscope also supports darkfield, phase contrast, differential interference contrast (DIC), fluorescence, and polarization techniques.

The motorized revolving nosepiece and motorized condenser automate objective changes and illumination adjustments. This reduces manual setup, keeps the user focused on research tasks, and significantly speeds up workflow. The system is suitable for microbiological analysis, medical diagnostics, and advanced scientific research.

Microscope head

The microscope is equipped with a trinocular head with infinity-corrected optics. The angle of inclination can be adjusted from 0° to 35°, allowing users to select the most comfortable viewing position. A digital camera is installed in the trinocular tube, and light beam splitting options include 0/100, 100/0, or 80/20.

The standard configuration includes 10x/25 mm eyepieces with diopter adjustment and long eye relief, making them comfortable for users who wear glasses.

Revolving nosepiece and objectives

A motorized six-position revolving nosepiece is oriented inward. This allows the user to see which objective is currently in the optical path while keeping the area above the stage clear. A free slot allows installation of an additional objective for extended magnification options.

All objectives are plan achromatic with infinity correction and a parfocal height of 60 mm. Above the nosepiece is a dedicated slot with a plug for installing analyzers, compensators, or DIC sliders.

Remote control of the revolving nosepiece

Objective selection buttons are located on the front panel of the microscope. Pressing a button automatically rotates the nosepiece to the selected objective. A separate button allows instant switching between the two most frequently used objectives.

Additional nosepiece rotation buttons are positioned on both sides of the microscope body near the focusing knobs. The illumination system and condenser position automatically adjust to match the selected objective, ensuring consistent imaging conditions. These features improve efficiency, user comfort, and reproducibility, particularly during microphotography, where stable shooting conditions are essential.

Automatic brightness control during magnification changes

Objectives of different magnifications transmit different amounts of light. Changing objectives normally requires manual brightness adjustment, and switching from high to low magnification can cause sudden increases in brightness that lead to eye fatigue.

This microscope features an intelligent brightness control system that memorizes the optimal brightness for each objective. When the nosepiece rotates, the system automatically restores the correct brightness level. This reduces setup time, improves comfort, and is especially valuable for workflows that require frequent changes in magnification.

Focusing mechanism

The coaxial coarse and fine focus knobs are positioned low on the body, allowing the user to rest their hands comfortably on the table while working.

A coarse focus lock knob, located on the left side, allows quick repositioning after changing specimens. On the right side, a dedicated ring adjusts the coarse focus tension, enabling users to set resistance according to personal preference.

Stage

The stage plate is made of sapphire glass, known for exceptional hardness, durability, and resistance to scratches and chemicals. On the Mohs hardness scale, sapphire scores 9, significantly higher than chemically tempered glass.

The specimen holder is secured with two screws and can be easily removed for manual scanning. A long stage control handle ensures comfortable operation, allowing the user’s hand to rest naturally on the table without strain.

Condenser

The condenser automatically adapts to each objective. A swivel auxiliary lens moves out of the optical path for low-magnification objectives and returns for magnifications above 10x. This automation eliminates unnecessary manual adjustments and speeds up operation.

The condenser is height-adjustable, centerable, and mounted using a dovetail system. The iris aperture diaphragm is controlled by a ring with white aperture markings and color-coded magnification indicators, making it easy to match condenser settings to the selected objective for optimal contrast.

Illumination

Transmitted-light illumination is provided by a 3 W LED. Brightness adjustments do not affect color temperature, ensuring consistent image quality. The LED has a service life of up to 50,000 hours, minimizing maintenance requirements.

Köhler illumination in transmitted light

Image contrast is controlled using the condenser aperture diaphragm, while the illuminated field is adjusted via the field diaphragm of the collector. The field diaphragm control is conveniently located on the lower right side of the microscope body near the focus controls, simplifying Köhler illumination setup.

Köhler illumination ensures maximum resolution, uniform field illumination, sharp focus, and the elimination of image artifacts and edge darkening.

Ergonomic design

Ergonomics play a critical role in reducing fatigue and maintaining productivity during extended research sessions. This microscope is designed to provide maximum user comfort.

Motorized components speed up repetitive tasks such as objective changes. The adjustable head inclination reduces strain on the neck and back. Low-positioned focusing knobs allow relaxed hand placement, and the smooth focusing mechanism ensures precise control with minimal effort. The long stage handle and fine focus knob are located within the same working area, minimizing unnecessary hand movement.

Accessories and expandability

A wide range of optional accessories is available. Additional objectives and eyepieces extend the magnification range and allow users to optimize the system for specific tasks.

Optional phase contrast, fluorescence, darkfield, polarization, and DIC components enable visualization of structures that are invisible in brightfield. Digital cameras allow live image display, image storage, and real-time measurements through software. Calibration slides support accurate measurement and can be used with scaled eyepieces or camera software.
