Description

The MAGUS Bio DH240 microscope is designed for studying transparent and translucent biological specimens using the brightfield method. It features a binocular head with a built-in digital camera, a four-position revolving nosepiece with intelligent lighting control, and a built-in LCD screen that displays current operating settings.

This model is compact, lightweight, and ergonomically designed, making it easy to store and transport. All cables and the power adapter are neatly concealed at the back of the stand, while side openings in the body act as convenient carrying handles.

The binocular head integrates the digital camera directly, avoiding additional attachments and saving space. Both eyepiece tubes rotate 360°, allowing users to adjust eye position for optimal comfort. The microscope is supplied with 10×/20 mm eyepieces and flat rubber eyecups, which are especially useful for users who wear glasses by preventing contact between lenses and eyepieces. The optics are infinity-corrected, and diopter adjustment rings on both tubes allow precise matching to the user’s eyesight.

The built-in 8 MP digital camera captures images in 4K resolution (3840 × 2160), accurately reproducing fine details of the specimen. Best results are achieved with 4× and 10× objectives. The camera supports photo and video capture of static or slow-moving specimens and can also assist with precise focusing. Image data can be transferred to a computer via Wi-Fi.

The four-position revolving nosepiece is oriented inward, placing the active objective directly in front of the user and directing the remaining objectives away, which leaves more free space for comfortable handling. The coded nosepiece automatically adjusts illumination when objectives are changed. Because objectives transmit light differently, brightness usually fluctuates during magnification changes. The intelligent lighting system memorizes the brightness setting for each objective and restores it automatically, reducing eye strain and saving time—especially useful when magnification is changed frequently.

Illumination is provided by a 3 W LED in the transmitted-light system. The color temperature can be adjusted from 3000 to 7000 K, allowing the user to select lighting that is most comfortable for their eyes or best suited to the specimen. The LED has an estimated service life of 50,000 hours.

Focusing is controlled by coaxial coarse and fine focus knobs located on opposite sides of the microscope. The system also includes a coarse focus lock for stability after changing objectives and a tension adjustment ring to set the resistance of coarse focusing to personal preference. All focusing controls are positioned low on the stand, enabling comfortable operation with hands resting on the table during long observation sessions.

The specimen stage is designed for smooth and precise operation. A belt-drive mechanism ensures gentle specimen movement across the stage surface. The specimen holder is secured with two screws and can be removed easily when required. There is no positioning rack, which improves ergonomics and simplifies handling.

The Abbe condenser is fixed at the correct height and centered along the optical axis, preventing accidental misalignment—an advantage for beginners or shared laboratory environments. The iris diaphragm is adjusted using a knob aligned with objective magnification markings on the condenser body. The user simply sets the knob to match the active objective to achieve optimal contrast.

All key parameters can be monitored and adjusted using the built-in LCD display on the microscope base. The screen shows illumination brightness, color temperature, active objective magnification, and operating mode, and it serves as the primary interface for configuring most settings.
