SZX16 Stereo Microscope

The SZX16 stereo microscope is designed for advanced research, materials science, quality control, and failure analysis. It combines ultra-high resolution with an exceptionally wide zoom range and versatile imaging modes, including dark field, fluorescence, and polarization. This powerful combination allows entire specimens—such as organisms or technical components—to be examined in detail, down to fine microscopic structures like individual cells or microdefects. The SZX16 provides the optical clarity required to observe, document, and reliably identify even the smallest details.

Designed for Demanding Applications in Life Sciences and Materials Science

Developed for advanced laboratory environments, the SZX16 offers features that support complex analytical tasks:

These capabilities make it possible to analyze large specimens as well as fine microscopic structures, ensuring accurate visualization for research, inspection, and documentation.

Modern Stereo Microscope with Exceptional Optical Performance

All optical components of the SZX16—including observation tubes, zoom body, and objectives—are fully apochromatic. This minimizes chromatic aberration across the entire magnification range. Super Depth of Field (SDF) lenses deliver clear, high-contrast images of a wide variety of samples, from micrometer-scale defects to detailed cellular structures.

The maximum numerical aperture of 0.3 provides extremely high resolution, making fine cellular and sub-cellular features clearly visible. This level of detail improves efficiency and precision, delivering significantly more information from each sample.

The high resolving power also allows the microscope to distinguish very small and closely spaced features on technical components, which is critical for precision fault analysis and quality control. Microcracks, scratches, surface contamination, and subtle manufacturing defects that are invisible at lower resolutions can be reliably detected.

Ultra-Wide Zoom Ratio of 16.4:1

The SZX16 features an exceptionally large zoom ratio of 16.4:1, offering magnifications from 7x to 115x with a 1x objective and up to 230x with a 2x objective.

This wide range makes the system ideal for applications that require both low-magnification overview images for dissection or manipulation and high-magnification views for detailed analysis of microstructures. In quality control and failure analysis, large assemblies can be inspected and zoomed continuously down to micrometer-scale defects such as cracks, scratches, or particles.

The SZX16 can be adapted to a wide range of applications through optional accessories, including:

SZX2-ILLTQ LED Transmitted Light Base

The SZX2-ILLTQ LED base features an ultra-slim profile of only 41.5 mm—approximately half the thickness of conventional halogen transmitted-light bases. This reduced height provides a more comfortable viewing angle and easier access to samples during operation.

The base includes a quadruple revolver that allows rapid selection of illumination modes, including bright field (standard, high, low), oblique illumination (standard, high, low), dark field, polarized light, and shutter operation, all with a simple rotation.

LED illumination keeps the base surface cooler, making it suitable for prolonged observation of living specimens. Compared to traditional 30 W halogen lighting, LED technology consumes less energy and offers a service life exceeding 60,000 hours, significantly reducing operating costs.
