Ultra-Light 24-Inch Telescope Designed for Extreme Portability
The Hubble Optics UL24 is a high-quality, large-aperture telescope engineered into an exceptionally light and compact design. Created for serious observers, it remains transportable by a single person to dark-sky locations. With a total weight of only about 70 kg, it is roughly one third the weight of a traditional 24-inch Dobsonian telescope and folds into a compact package that fits into almost any car.
The UL24 strikes an ideal balance between enormous light-gathering power and outstanding portability. It is a telescope that will actually be taken out and used frequently, whether from the garage or the back of a vehicle. It delivers breathtaking views of the night sky and offers a lifetime of observing enjoyment.
The heaviest individual component is the primary mirror, weighing approximately 30 kg, while the complete telescope weighs only around 70 kg—remarkably light for a 24-inch instrument. Thanks to its fast focal ratio mirror, the eyepiece height at the zenith is only about 77 inches above the ground, allowing comfortable observing without ladders.

Sandwich Mirror Technology
The open-core sandwich mirror design allows rapid cooling and excellent structural rigidity. This technology, proven in research institutions and advanced amateur telescopes worldwide, minimizes “mirror seeing” by allowing the mirror to reach thermal equilibrium quickly. The result is sharp, stable images with minimal distortion. -
Semi-Enhanced Optical Coatings
The primary mirror features a 92% semi-enhanced reflective coating with a precision dielectric overcoat for high reflectivity and long-term durability. The secondary mirror is coated to 96% reflectivity, maximizing brightness and contrast. -
Engineered Mirror Support System
A carefully optimized flotation system provides excellent support for the primary mirror. The three-point collimation system is fully independent of the lateral sling support, eliminating astigmatism caused by mirror edge stress during collimation. -
All-Metal Construction
The mechanical structure is designed using advanced 3D CAD modeling and finite element analysis to achieve maximum strength and stability. CNC-machined components, strong aluminum alloy truss tubes, a steel mirror cell, and carbon tube elements are combined with a durable black powder-coated finish for both performance and aesthetics. -
Linear Drive Crayford Focuser
The precision linear-bearing Crayford focuser provides zero backlash and exceptionally smooth operation. It easily supports heavy modern eyepieces and accessories. A 1:10 fine-focus control enables precise focusing for high-power visual observing.
