Levenhuk New Skyline PRO 10" (250/1270) Retractable Dobsonian Telescope (86288)
The Levenhuk New Skyline PRO 10" Dobsonian features an open-truss optical tube design, making it a practical and portable solution for astronomy trips to dark-sky locations. With a 254 mm aperture and a 1270 mm focal length, it offers an excellent balance for observing both Solar System objects and deep-sky targets such as galaxies, nebulae, star clusters, and selected double or multiple stars. This telescope reveals impressive detail. On the Moon, it resolves craters and maria measuring approximately 1.5–2 km. Jupiter’s Great Red Spot and white ovals are clearly visible, along with the Cassini Division and other fine structures in Saturn’s rings.

Description
Titan can be observed near Saturn, and Mars shows its polar ice caps during opposition. Bright nebulae and galaxies reveal structural detail, while open and globular clusters resolve into individual stars.
Powerful Yet Easy to Operate
Despite its large aperture and strong optical performance, the telescope remains straightforward to use. The optical tube is mounted on a stable and portable Dobsonian base with an intuitive alt-azimuth design for smooth manual control. The maximum practical magnification reaches 500×. The included 10 mm and 25 mm Plössl eyepieces (1.25") provide 127× and 51× magnification, respectively.
A dual-speed 2" rack-and-pinion focuser with a 1.25" adapter ensures precise focusing and compatibility with a wide range of eyepieces.
High-Quality Optical Construction
The internal optics are crafted from BK-7 glass, a material commonly used in professional optical systems. The parabolic primary mirror focuses incoming light precisely to eliminate spherical aberration. Both mirrors are coated with aluminum, achieving 92–95% reflectivity for bright, high-contrast views.
Open-Truss Design for Portability
The optical tube features a retractable open-truss construction. Compared to a solid tube, this design significantly improves portability and storage efficiency. When disassembled, the tube breaks down into sturdy structural rods that occupy minimal space. Once assembled, it provides stability comparable to a traditional solid tube.
A protective fabric shroud is included to shield the mirrors from dust during operation.
Cooling and Accessories Included
To maintain optimal performance, the telescope includes a primary mirror cooling fan powered by eight AA batteries (not included). An 8×40 optical finderscope assists with accurate target acquisition.
