Large-format 17K RGBW sensor

The URSA Cine 17K 65 features a large-format 65 mm RGBW CMOS sensor with an effective resolution of 17,520 × 8,040 pixels.

The RGBW sensor architecture uses dedicated red, green, blue, and white pixels to deliver outstanding color accuracy, improved light sensitivity, and exceptional image detail across all recording resolutions.

The large sensor is capable of producing cinematic images from standard 4K recording all the way up to full 17K capture while maintaining an impressive 16-stop dynamic range.

Professional image quality

Building upon the technology developed for the URSA Mini Pro 12K, the URSA Cine 17K introduces further improvements in resolution, color reproduction, and overall image fidelity.

Generation 5 Color Science and Blackmagic RAW processing preserve subtle tonal transitions while maintaining excellent highlight and shadow detail for professional color grading workflows.

Integrated optical low-pass filter

The camera incorporates a precision optical low-pass filter (OLPF) specifically matched to the sensor.

The filter reduces aliasing and moiré while maintaining excellent image sharpness.

An updated infrared filtering system also improves far-red color reproduction, ensuring accurate color rendition and preserving critical image details.

High-capacity recording system

The included Blackmagic Media Module provides 8 TB of ultra-fast internal storage.

This allows recording for:

• More than four hours of Blackmagic RAW footage in full 17K using the complete 65 mm sensor.

• Up to twenty hours of recording in 4K.

The camera is also compatible with the optional Blackmagic Media Module CF, which provides dual CFexpress card slots for alternative recording workflows.

Integrated cloud workflow

The URSA Cine 17K features built-in Cloud Store technology for high-speed media management.

Using the integrated 10 Gigabit Ethernet connection, users can access recorded media directly without removing storage modules.

The camera can simultaneously generate lightweight H.264 proxy files while recording Blackmagic RAW footage. These proxy files can be uploaded automatically to Blackmagic Cloud, allowing editors and post-production teams to begin working almost immediately.
