The URSA Cine 17K 65 features a professional 65 mm RGBW CMOS sensor with an effective resolution of 17,520 × 8,040 pixels.

Its RGBW sensor architecture uses dedicated red, green, blue, and white pixels to improve color accuracy, light sensitivity, and overall image quality across every supported recording resolution.

The sensor delivers cinematic images from standard 4K recording through full 17K capture while maintaining an exceptional 16-stop dynamic range.

Professional cinematic image quality

Building upon the imaging technology introduced with the URSA Mini Pro 12K, the URSA Cine 17K further enhances resolution, tonal reproduction, and image fidelity.

Generation 5 Color Science combined with Blackmagic RAW processing preserves highlight detail, shadow information, and subtle color transitions, providing maximum flexibility during professional color grading.

Integrated optical low-pass filter

The camera includes a precision optical low-pass filter designed specifically for the 17K sensor.

The OLPF minimizes aliasing and moiré artifacts while preserving image sharpness.

An improved infrared filter also enhances far-red color reproduction, ensuring accurate color rendering and preserving fine image detail.

Professional recording system

The included Blackmagic Media Module provides 8 TB of ultra-fast internal storage.

Recording capacity includes:

• More than four hours of Blackmagic RAW recording in full 17K using the complete 65 mm sensor.

• Up to twenty hours of recording in 4K.

The camera is also compatible with the optional Blackmagic Media Module CF featuring dual CFexpress card slots.

Integrated Blackmagic Cloud workflow

The URSA Cine 17K includes built-in Cloud Store technology for fast media management and collaborative production workflows.

Using the integrated 10 Gigabit Ethernet connection, recorded media can be accessed directly without removing storage modules.

The camera can simultaneously generate lightweight H.264 proxy files while recording Blackmagic RAW footage. These proxy files can be uploaded automatically to Blackmagic Cloud, allowing editors to begin post-production almost immediately while recording continues.
