The Sony PXW-X400 is an advanced shoulder-mounted XDCAM camcorder designed for professional Full HD broadcast production. Featuring three 2/3-inch Exmor CMOS image sensors, an ergonomic weight-balanced design, low power consumption, and enhanced networking capabilities, it is ideal for news gathering, live broadcasting, sports coverage, documentary production, and studio applications.

The camera records multiple professional broadcast formats, including XAVC Long GOP at up to 50p and 59.94p. With the optional 4K upgrade, it also supports UHD recording in XAVC Intra and XAVC Long GOP formats.

Designed to improve operator comfort during long shooting sessions, the PXW-X400 incorporates a redesigned body that reduces strain on the right arm while maintaining excellent balance when paired with professional B4 broadcast lenses.

The PXW-X400 records high-quality Full HD video using Sony's XAVC Long GOP codec at frame rates up to 50p and 59.94p.

With the optional CBK-Z450UK upgrade kit installed, the camera also supports UHD 4K recording using:

• XAVC Intra.

• XAVC Long GOP.

This provides additional flexibility for productions that require both HD and UHD delivery.

Optimized ergonomic design

The PXW-X400 has been redesigned to improve balance and reduce operator fatigue.
