Description

The Sky-Watcher (Synta) 130/650 is a reflecting telescope that belongs to the Newtonian system. It features a 130 mm mirror diameter and a focal length of 650 mm. This telescope is ideal for advanced visual observations of planets and the Moon, offering a remarkable level of detail on their surfaces. Additionally, its construction makes it highly recommended for observing nebular objects. Under favorable observational conditions, the Sky-Watcher 130/650 can unveil over a hundred nebulae, galaxies, and star clusters found in the Messier and NGC catalogs. The telescope is equipped with a built-in 1.25-inch focuser, enabling the use of glasses made in this standard. It caters to both beginners and more experienced observers, providing excellent performance at a very competitive price.

The telescope's EQ2 paraglider mount offers sufficient stiffness to support high magnifications during observations. The lightweight and adjustable-height aluminum tripod is easy to transport. Furthermore, the accessory shelf and precise micromovement mechanism for manual control complete the set, enhancing convenience and accuracy.

One notable feature of the Sky-Watcher 130/650 is its shortened focal length, which maintains the high quality of the mirror's figure. This design choice results in a wider field of view and increased surface brightness for deep sky objects and astrophotography. At the same time, it retains high resolution, which is particularly crucial for observing the Moon and planets.

This telescope package includes all the necessary accessories, such as the optical tube with suitable optics, a set of eyepieces, and a sturdy mount for assembly. The technical specifications of the Sky-Watcher 130/650 are as follows:

  • Optical system: Newtonian telescope with a rotating parabolic mirror
  • Lens diameter: 130 mm
  • Focal length: 650 mm
  • F-ratio: f/5
  • Resolving power: 0.9 arc seconds
  • Theoretical limit: magnitude 13.3
  • Maximum useful magnification: 260x
  • Dimensions of the optical tube: 17 x 17 x 62 cm
  • Tripod height: 70 - 123 cm
  • Weight: 13 kg (19 kg in the original packaging)

The included accessories in this set are:

  • 1.25" focuser
  • Kellner eyepieces: 25mm (providing magnifications of approximately 26x and 52x with a Barlow lens) and 10mm (offering magnifications of about 65x and 130x with a Barlow lens). These eyepieces have a 45° field of view. Please note that the set does not include a Barlow lens.
  • Star Finder shooting spotting optics
  • EQ-2 parallactic mount
  • Lightweight and stable aluminum tripod

The Sky-Watcher 130/650 comes with a warranty of three years, ensuring peace of mind with your purchase.

Important Note: It is crucial to exercise caution while using this telescope, as it concentrates a significant amount of light. Directly observing the sun through this device can result in partial or complete vision loss. To observe the Sun safely, we recommend the method of spectacle projection, which involves projecting the image of the sun onto a piece of paper.
