The Evolux 82ED features a two-element optic with an air gap, incorporating a lens made of low dispersion (ED) glass. This design effectively minimizes chromatic aberration in the resulting images, meeting the stringent requirements of professional astrophotography. The telescope's tube is equipped with a 2.4" dual speed focuser, enabling precise adjustments for achieving optimal focus. Additionally, a dedicated focal length reducer, offering a 9x reduction, allows for an increased light-gathering capability with a focal ratio of f/5.8.

The optical tube of the Evolux 82ED is compatible with mounts adhering to the Vixen standard. Moreover, the double slots on the tube clamp facilitate the simultaneous use of two accessories, such as a finder and a guider.
