Sky-Watcher Hybrid Telescope Mount AZ-EQ6 GT PRO SynScan Go-To (SW-4162)

The Sky-Watcher AZ-EQ6 GT (PRO) mount is one of the most unique mounts available on the astronomy market. This design can operate both in equatorial mode and in alt-azimuth mode. It is a solid construction based on the well-known and proven EQ6, but modified and modernized.

The head of the mount weighs 15 kg, the tripod 7.5 kg, and the payload capacity without counterweights in equatorial mode is 20 kg. The entire system is controlled by the GoTo SynScan, which has a database of 42,900 objects. Another remarkable feature is that in alt-azimuth mode, it allows two telescopes to be mounted simultaneously, in a setup resembling a giro-style head.

The mount is equipped with a dual-encoder system that allows manual movement of the head without the need to reset the GoTo system. It has saddles compatible with both Vixen-style dovetail bars and Losmandy-type bars.

For every SynScan GoTo-equipped mount, it is recommended to add the optional GPS module, which enables automatic and effortless input of the geographic coordinates and precise time for each observation.
