Built upon the renowned and proven EQ6 design, the AZ-EQ6 mount has been modified and modernized to provide an exceptional observing experience.

One of the standout features of the AZ-EQ6 assembly is its ability to deliver the same impressive load capacity and rigidity as the classic EQ6 SynScan version, while weighing 25% less. Historically, the weight of EQ6 mounts has been a limiting factor in terms of mobility, but this new design addresses that concern, significantly enhancing portability.

Weighing just 15 kg for the head and 7.5 kg for the tripod, the AZ-EQ6 mount boasts a substantial load capacity of 20 kg (excluding counterweights) in the parallactic position. To facilitate seamless operation, the mount is equipped with the GoTo SynScan system, featuring an extensive database of 42,900 celestial objects. Additionally, the AZ-EQ6 assembly offers a unique feature: the ability to connect two telescopes simultaneously in an arrangement resembling giro heads when in the azimuth position.

The mount incorporates a dual encoder system, enabling manual rotation of the head without requiring the GoTo system to be reset. Furthermore, the assembly is equipped with saddles that accommodate both Vixen standard and Losmandy type dovetail rails.
