Description
The MN 190/1000 Telescope:
This telescope packs a punch with its high light-gathering power and exceptional performance, perfect for both astrophotography and visual observing. Featuring a front Maksutov lens from Schott, it ensures stellar image quality. With a 190mm aperture, it collects approximately 740 times more light than the naked eye alone (for a 7mm fully dilated pupil). Renowned for its excellent contrast in lunar and planetary observation, it also excels in deep sky object (DSO) viewing. The Maksutov-Newtonian design, a modification of the Newtonian design, features a spherical primary mirror with a front-mounted, coated meniscus lens. While it resembles a Newtonian telescope externally, it offers distinct imaging properties optimized for astrophotography. This telescope provides superb correction across the entire field of view, ensuring coma-free, flat-field astrophotos with CCD or DSLR cameras such as the Canon EOS, crucial for image aesthetics. Thanks to its closed system design, once the OTA has cooled down, there are minimal air turbulence disturbances, enhancing astrophotography performance. The integrated meniscus lens also eliminates the need for diffraction-generating secondary mirror spider vanes, while the wide 58mm secondary mirror ensures excellent field illumination. With a fast F5.3 focal ratio and 1000mm focal length, it enables relatively short exposure times and adequate imaging of most objects. The 2-inch ball bearing Crayford focuser with 1.25 reduction ratio allows precise focusing, even with heavy cameras. Weighing just 10kg, the OTA is versatile and can be used on a wide range of mounts, with the Skywatcher EQ-6 Pro mount highly recommended for astrophotography. Visually stunning, the OTA features an elegant design in shimmering black for both the OTA and finder scope.
