Description

Introducing the Sky-Watcher AC 102/500 Telescope:

A straightforward tool of compact design, ideal for both celestial and terrestrial observation. With its 102mm objective lens, this telescope offers an affordable gateway to the vastness of the universe. Its short focal length earns it the title of a 'rich field' telescope, enabling wide-angle observation with remarkable clarity. Compared to a 70mm refractor, this instrument provides superior resolution, offering enhanced detail for planetary viewing with a resolution of 1.14 arc-seconds. Explore the Andromeda Galaxy or the Orion Nebula in a near three-dimensional experience, courtesy of its expansive field of view that transforms your observation into a cosmic stroll.

The Starquest mount, tailored for small optics, boasts two robust clutches and precision gears featuring 122-teeth worm gear in both axes, ensuring exceptional stability.

Aligning one axis parallel to Earth's axis is essential for mount operation. Knowing north and your latitude suffices, although a clear view of the Pole star is beneficial but not mandatory. While this may sound complex, a rough alignment suffices for visual observation. The beauty lies in the simplicity of compensating for Earth's rotation by adjusting just one axis, keeping celestial objects centered in the eyepiece. This streamlined process significantly eases orientation using star maps.

Flexible shafts enable tracking and fine adjustments of celestial objects. Loosening the clamps on both axes with easily accessible screws facilitates smooth navigation across the sky for panoramic views.
