PegasusAstro NYX-101 Harmonic Geared Mount

Nyx, the ancient Greek goddess of the night, has inspired us to engineer and manufacture a robust mount capable of supporting imaging equipment weighing up to 20 Kg without the need for counterweights or shafts.

Utilizing strain wave (harmonic) drive technology on both the Right Ascension (RA) and Declination (DEC) axes ensures smooth, backlash-free operation with ample torque even at high payloads.

Crafted from fully CNC machined aluminum alloy, the Nyx-101 boasts a sleek black and blue anodized finish. Branded components such as stepper motors and strain wave gears ensure enduring performance over many years of use.

The mount features an electronic brake on the RA axis to prevent backsliding when power is off, along with safety limit stops during slewing or tracking. Operating on just 12 volts, it offers smooth functionality, with the power cable securely locking onto the mount.

A special USB type B socket ensures a secure connection, while both sockets are positioned on the non-movable part of the mount, eliminating cable movement during slewing and tracking. Additionally, the mount incorporates a barometric and temperature sensor necessary for calculating atmospheric refraction corrections during tracking.

Included is a low-profile, rigid universal saddle that accommodates Vixen and Losmandy 3-inch dovetails. An ST-4 port at the rear supports plug-in of a simple hand controller or guiding camera.
