Skywatcher's SolarQuest™ GoTo Mount for Solar Observing - Simplicity at Its Best!

The SolarQuest™ mount from Skywatcher is designed for ease of use and efficient solar tracking, perfect for anyone using a solar telescope. This mount simplifies the process of solar observation by automatically locating and tracking the Sun with minimal user input.

Simply set up the tripod to be reasonably level and point the solar telescope slightly left of the Sun. From there, Skywatcher's innovative HelioFind™ technology takes over. With the press of a single button, the mount levels the telescope, calculates the Sun's altitude and azimuth using GPS data, and automatically slews the telescope to the appropriate elevation. It then begins a clockwise search for the Sun. Once detected by the solar sensor, the Sun is kept within the eyepiece's field of view for continuous tracking.

The SolarQuest is both easy to transport and operates quietly. It is primarily battery-operated but can also be powered by a 12V DC supply, tip positive.

This mount is an excellent tool for observing sunspots, solar eclipses, detailed surface features on the Sun, and the transits of inner planets across the Sun.
