The TS Optics Apochromatic Refractor AP 102/714 Photoline OTA is a high-quality refractor designed for advanced users interested in astrophotography and detailed visual observation of the Moon and planets. Its dual-element objective lens, featuring Ohara FPL53 extra-low dispersion glass combined with lanthanum glass, delivers color correction that matches an FPL53 triplet while cooling down faster. This ensures sharp, color-accurate images even at high magnifications, making the telescope suitable for both wide-field and planetary observation.

The robust aluminum tube houses a temperature-compensated, adjustable doublet lens, with internal baffles and deep blackening for excellent contrast. The dew cap is retractable for easy transport. The 2.5-inch ball-bearing, gear-driven, rotating focuser offers micro-reduction and full-format illumination, allowing for precise focusing and flexible attachment of accessories via internal threads, a 2-inch socket, or a 1.25-inch socket.

For astrophotography, the f/7 Photoline refractor works best with a field flattener or reducer to maintain round stars at the edge of the image. Compatible accessories include the TS Optics Flattener 1.0x M63, which preserves focal length, and the TS Optics Reducer/Corrector Photoline 0.79x 3", which shortens focal length and widens the field for faster imaging.
