This Dobsonian telescope offers a large aperture at an affordable price. The Sky-Watcher BlackDiamond Dobsonian features a classic design with a modern twist: its patented sliding rod system makes the telescope very easy to transport. This design also allows you to shift the focus point by adjusting the rods in or out.

• The BlackDiamond truss-tube Dobsonian is equipped with an 8-inch parabolic mirror, a popular size for astronomy.

• With this aperture, you can clearly resolve globular clusters and begin to see spiral structure in some galaxies.

• Its f/5.9 aperture ratio and 2-inch focuser make it suitable for observing extended nebulae, while planetary views are detailed—Saturn’s rings and the Cassini division are visible.

• The Crayford focuser enables precise focusing and includes a T2 camera connector. To use a DSLR camera, you will need a camera-specific T2 adapter (available separately).

• The truss tube design makes this Dobsonian especially portable. Sky-Watcher’s FlexTube system uses only three tubes that can be quickly collapsed for transport and easily extended when you’re ready to observe. The telescope remains stable and rigid even when fully extended, and collimation holds well.
