Sky-Watcher Astrophotography head Star Adventurer Mini (SW-4013)

Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer Mini sets new standards in simple, mobile wide-field astrophotography. Although small and inconspicuous, it is in fact a precise and advanced equatorial head with a range of very useful features.

Compact but Capable
The MINI version is the latest Sky-Watcher head, designed for those who do not need the higher load capacity of the standard Star Adventurer. The Mini has a load capacity of 3 kg, which is sufficient for a DSLR camera with a short telephoto lens (up to 85–100 mm).

Wi-Fi Control
The most exciting feature of the Mini is how it is controlled. The Star Adventurer Mini is operated entirely via Wi-Fi using a free application available for all Android mobile devices. Simply download and install the Star Adventurer Console app, insert the batteries, and activate Wi-Fi on your mobile device.

Through the app, the user can control many parameters of both the mount and the DSLR (connected via a 2.5 mm shutter release cable, e.g. for Canon EOS):

• Exposure time

• Number of exposures

• Total exposure duration

• Delay between exposures

• Tracking speeds (including sidereal, solar, lunar)

• And many other functions

Astrophotography Options
The full range of functions allows for efficient, high-quality night sky photography. In addition to multiple tracking speeds, the mount features a mini USB port for power supply. With this head, you can capture not only beautiful astrophotos using multiple frames but also time-lapse sequences with motion, as well as modern star-scape photography, where the beautifully starry sky becomes the main subject.

Efficient Drive System
The DC servo motor ensures precise tracking control while remaining compact and energy-efficient. The Star Adventurer Mini can operate throughout the night on just two AA batteries (LR6) or rechargeable equivalents.

Polar Alignment
The mount comes with a precise illuminated polar scope. It accounts for the shift of the North Pole due to precession, with clear markings and an annual scale that make accurate alignment much easier.

Mounting and Ergonomics
The mount includes a 3/8" tripod thread with a 1/4" adapter, plus a dovetail adapter in the Vixen standard. It can be fitted with a high-quality ball head, giving the photographer full freedom in composition. For ergonomic and functional reasons, the mount has a single right ascension axis with an adjustable mechanical clutch, allowing quick repositioning during use.
