Description
The EOS R5 Mark II is a versatile hybrid camera that delivers outstanding results in every genre of photography and filmmaking. From wildlife, reportage and portraits to filmmaking, interviews and documentaries, it is designed to help you fulfil your creative ambitions.
Powerful performance built on advanced technology
Whatever story you want to tell, the EOS R5 Mark II is ready. It offers extremely fast shooting, high resolution stills, and advanced video capabilities in a compact, responsive body that inspires creativity from the moment you pick it up.
-
45 megapixel back-illuminated stacked sensor
Capture high-resolution stills and superb 8K 60p RAW video. The ultrafast stacked sensor design reduces distortion in moving subjects and enables blackout-free continuous shooting. -
Tally lamp
A switchable red light on the front of the camera lets subjects know when video recording is in progress. -
RF lens mount
The RF mount is designed to maximise optical design possibilities. It enables advanced lenses that were previously impossible, as well as smaller and more portable options you can take everywhere. The EOS R5 Mark II can use a hybrid lens’s Iris Ring for both stills and video.
Unlock new ways to be creative
-
Dual Pixel Intelligent AF
Track people, animals and objects, even when they briefly leave the frame. Action Priority mode identifies subjects in certain sports and moves the AF area automatically to follow the play. -
Advanced 45 megapixel stacked image sensor
A next-generation full-frame back-illuminated stacked CMOS sensor combines exceptional resolution and dynamic range with impressive speed and powerful video features. -
8K 60p RAW video
Elevate your filmmaking with Light RAW, offering 12-bit 8K 60p recording using the full width of the sensor. -
Eye-control AF
Newly refined for the EOS R5 Mark II, Eye-control AF is more precise and reliable than before. It detects where you are looking in the viewfinder and moves the active AF point accordingly, allowing intuitive control while you keep your focus on the subject. -
High ISO for low-light work
A maximum ISO of 51,200 (expandable to 102,400) is supported by in-camera neural network noise reduction, resulting in cleaner, more detailed JPEG images in low light. -
Customisable continuous shooting up to 30 fps
Fine-tune the continuous shooting speed and capture 45-megapixel images at up to 30 frames per second. This powerful combination of speed and resolution reveals subtle detail in fast-changing scenes. -
Fast and accurate performance
Freeze action with an electronic shutter speed of up to 1/32,000 sec and record 4K video at up to 120p, including audio. Rapid sensor read-out reduces rolling shutter distortion. -
Advanced connectivity
Deliver photos and video to your clients faster and more reliably via Wi-Fi 6E (region dependent) or tethered USB. An optional battery grip adds 2.5G BASE-T Ethernet for wired network connections.
Unlock the power of the EOS R system for your business
The EOS R5 Mark II, together with other Canon mirrorless cameras and RF lenses, can open up new commercial opportunities by providing high-end image quality, flexibility and efficient workflows for professional use.
Our smartest autofocus yet
The Dual Pixel Intelligent AF system in the EOS R5 Mark II sets a new standard. It maintains sharp focus on moving subjects, even when they are briefly obscured. Action Priority mode recognises players in football, basketball and volleyball and automatically moves the AF point to follow specific actions, such as a shot on goal from a fast pass.
In-camera 8K RAW up to 60p
Record stunning 8K footage using the full width of the sensor. The high resolution is rich in detail and ideal for cropping in post-production. 8K 60p Light RAW produces fluid motion, while 12-bit colour depth delivers smooth gradations and wide dynamic range.
You can choose between 8K RAW for maximum flexibility in post-production or MP4 formats that integrate seamlessly into your existing workflow. XF-HEVC S and XF-AVC S formats, familiar from Canon professional video cameras, are available, as well as Clog2 and Clog3 for precise colour grading.
Versatile video options
The EOS R5 Mark II fits smoothly into almost any production environment with a wide range of resolutions, frame rates and codecs.
-
Multiple resolutions up to 8K
-
Frame rates from 24p to 240p, depending on resolution and format
-
Choice of UHD or DCI aspect ratios and various compression options
Shoot for longer
Record 8K 30p video for up to four times longer by using the optional Cooling Fan CF-R20EP grip, which improves thermal management.
Smooth and stable footage
The refined in-body Image Stabilizer provides up to 8.5 stops of stabilisation. It counteracts unwanted camera movement when shooting handheld, enabling footage that looks like it was shot with a gimbal or dolly.
Capturing imperceptible moments in time
Shoot 45-megapixel stills at up to 30 frames per second with the electronic shutter, and freeze motion with shutter speeds up to 1/32,000 sec.
Capture more than a single frame
The EOS R5 Mark II is designed for hybrid professionals covering events. With Dual Shooting enabled, pressing the shutter button while recording Full HD video captures 7680 × 4320 (8K) JPEG photos at up to 7.5 fps, using the same shutter speed, without interrupting the video recording.
Built to withstand challenging conditions
The EOS R5 Mark II is engineered to meet the demands of serious image makers. Weather-sealing helps protect against dust and moisture, and the tough magnesium alloy chassis withstands professional use in challenging environments.
Part of the EOS R system
Investing in the EOS R5 Mark II means joining a growing, cutting-edge imaging system designed for uncompromising performance and outstanding image quality, supported by a wide range of RF lenses and accessories.
