Description

The FUJIFILM GFX100S II delivers a truly immersive large format photography experience. It does more than just capture images – it preserves your favorite places and moments in exceptional detail.

  • 102-megapixel large format sensor for outstanding image quality

  • High-speed performance and powerful image stabilization for full creative control

  • All this in the lightest GFX System camera to date

Unmatched Image Quality and Performance

The newly developed large format sensor and latest image processing engine significantly improve image quality and speed compared to the original GFX100S. Combined with powerful in-body image stabilization in a compact body, the GFX100S II is a highly capable photographic tool for demanding creators.

Large Format 102MP Sensor for Vivid Detail

The GFX 102MP CMOS II large format sensor measures 55mm diagonally and records 102-megapixel images with impressive depth, texture, and tonal gradation.

This sensor is paired with the high-performance X-Processor 5, which quickly processes the huge amounts of data generated. Together, they create a responsive, intuitive shooting experience, even for photographers new to large format.

ISO 80 Standard Sensitivity and Low Noise

An improved pixel structure extends the standard sensitivity down to ISO 80. This allows photographers to create 16-bit images with wider dynamic range and lower noise than previous models, especially useful in scenes with strong contrast or fine detail.

Improved Edge-to-Edge Image Quality

Redesigned microlenses on the sensor provide better light coverage, particularly at the corners. This results in improved image quality across the entire frame and more accurate autofocus performance near the edges.

Film Simulation Modes

Fujifilm draws on 90 years of color science to deliver unique Film Simulation modes. The GFX100S II includes 20 film simulations, including the latest REALA ACE, allowing a wide variety of creative color and tonal looks right in the camera.

Pixel Shift Multi-Shot and Real Color Mode

The GFX100S II features Pixel Shift Multi-Shot, which uses the in-body image stabilization system to move the sensor by 0.5 pixels between exposures, capturing 16 consecutive RAW files. These are combined using Pixel Shift Combiner software to generate a single 400-megapixel image with extraordinary detail.

Real Color mode captures four RAW files with a one-pixel shift between each exposure. This produces a 102-megapixel image with greatly reduced false color, using only one quarter of the time and data required by the previous GFX100S model.

Additional Still Image Functions

  • Richer Color Rendering: Improves color reproduction in highly saturated scenes, producing deeper tones. Ideal for flowers, colorful landscapes, and other vivid subjects.

  • Grain Effect: Adds a natural, film-like grain structure to the entire image for an analog aesthetic.

  • Smooth Skin Effect: Softens skin texture and enhances complexion, perfect for portrait work.

  • HEIF Format Support: Supports 10-bit HEIF files with over a billion colors, offering high image quality while using up to around 30% less storage than JPEG.

  • Clarity Control: Adjusts the crispness or softness of the image look across 11 levels, allowing precise control of the overall rendering.

  • White Balance Shift: White balance can be set to Auto, Custom, Color Temperature, or presets such as Daylight, Shade, Fluorescent, Incandescent, and Underwater. Fine-tune WB using red (R) and blue (B) axes in the WB Shift function.

High-Speed Performance for Fast Action

Large format cameras are often associated with high image quality but slower operation. The GFX100S II breaks that mold, offering both exceptional quality and the speed needed to capture decisive, fast-moving moments.

Updated Autofocus Algorithm

An improved predictive AF algorithm delivers better subject tracking and increased accuracy in low-contrast scenes compared to the original GFX100S. This allows reliable focus on a wide range of moving subjects, including dynamic portraits, sports, and wildlife.

Subject Detection Autofocus

The GFX100S II’s AF system includes enhanced face and eye detection so photographers can focus on timing and composition rather than focus management.

It also features subject detection AF based on deep-learning AI technology. The camera can detect and focus on:

  • Animals

  • Birds

  • Cars

  • Motorcycles and bicycles

  • Airplanes

  • Trains

  • Insects*

  • Drones*

*Set SUBJECT DETECTION SETTING to BIRD to detect insects, and AIRPLANE to detect drones.

High-Speed Continuous Shooting

Thanks to the new GFX 102MP CMOS II sensor and improved readout speed from the new shutter unit, the GFX100S II offers continuous shooting at up to 7.0 frames per second when using the mechanical shutter. This makes it highly capable for fast action in a large format system.

High-Resolution, High-Magnification EVF

The electronic viewfinder features 5.76 million dots and 0.84x magnification, providing a large, bright, and detailed view for precise composition and focusing.

Zone Custom AF Settings

Using Zone AF mode, photographers can customize the focus area based on the subject’s size, shape, and movement.

Other high-speed AF functions include:

  • AF-C Custom Setting

  • Configurable number and layout of AF points

Ultimate Freedom with Powerful Stabilization

The GFX100S II delivers best-in-class 5-axis in-body image stabilization, providing up to 8.0 stops of compensation. This enables handheld shooting with a 102MP sensor in a wide variety of conditions, including low light.

Despite the performance enhancements over the GFX100S, the GFX100S II is lighter. At approximately 883 g (1.95 lb) with battery and memory card, it is the lightest 102MP body in the GFX System.

*Image stabilization rating is compliant with CIPA guidelines in pitch/yaw when used with the FUJINON GF63mmF2.8 R WR lens.

Most Powerful GFX IBIS to Date

To fully support the 102MP large format sensor, the GFX100S II uses Fujifilm’s most advanced IBIS unit in a GFX camera. The 5-axis system provides up to 8.0 stops of compensation, made possible by highly sensitive gyroscopic and accelerometer sensors that detect and correct even very small movements.

This results in more agile, confident handheld shooting, even in challenging situations.

The Lightest GFX System Camera Yet

Weighing about 883 g with battery and memory card, the GFX100S II offers a reduced body weight compared to the GFX100S while integrating a more powerful stabilization system and multiple feature upgrades. Whether shooting landscapes, portraits, or travel work, carrying 102MP of large format resolution has never been easier.

Designed to Perform and Handle Beautifully

  • BISHAMON-TEX Leather Pattern:
The body features a BISHAMON-TEX finish, as seen on the flagship GFX100 II. The three-arrow pattern, inspired by traditional Japanese design, improves both grip and aesthetics.

  • Comfortable, Secure Grip:
The ergonomic grip is coated with BISHAMON-TEX for a more confident, comfortable hold. Combined with advanced stabilization, it greatly supports handheld shooting.

  • Mode Dial:
A familiar PASM mode dial offers quick access to exposure modes. In addition to standard P, A, S, and M modes, there are six custom positions for storing and recalling personalized settings for different subjects or shooting styles.

  • Sub LCD Monitor:
A 1.8-inch monochrome sub LCD displays key shooting information, including shutter speed, aperture, ISO, exposure compensation, remaining still image count, and video recording time. The display layout can be customized.

  • Weather Resistance:
The body is sealed in 60 locations for dust and moisture resistance and is designed for use in harsh environments when paired with a weather-resistant GF lens. The magnesium alloy shell is both rigid and durable.

Advanced Video as Well as Stills

The GFX100S II is not only a stills camera; it is also a powerful video tool. The improved pixel structure of the GFX 102MP CMOS II sensor makes ISO 100 the standard video sensitivity while providing wider dynamic range and lower noise than previous GFX models. Autofocus and handling are also significantly improved over the GFX100S.

As with stills, video footage benefits from the sensor’s depth, tones, and high level of detail.
