The Panasonic Lumix S5 IIX is a second-generation full-frame mirrorless camera made for professional content creators who need high-quality stills, advanced video tools, and smooth livestreaming. It features a newly designed sensor and updated L2 image processor, and it is the first Lumix camera to use Phase Hybrid AF for fast, accurate autofocus. With its 24.2MP sensor and enhanced processing power, the S5 IIX can record 6K video for up to 30 minutes and offers unlimited 4K recording. The camera is also optimized for video with a new Active I.S. system that improves stabilization during handheld and walking shots.

The S5 IIX comes pre-loaded with professional video features such as HDMI RAW output, USB-SSD recording, ALL-Intra recording, and ProRes recording. Livestreaming tools are built in, including Wireless IP streaming, USB tethering to smartphones, and wired IP streaming. This model is also the first Lumix camera to feature a sleek, fully black, stealth-style finish.

Sensor and Processing Engine
The camera uses an upgraded full-frame 24.2MP CMOS sensor and an L2-powered image processor. This new sensor integrates a Phase Hybrid AF system, used for the first time in the Lumix range, and provides 779 phase-detection points for significantly better subject tracking. It offers a wide dynamic range with a standard ISO range of 100–51,200, expandable to 50–204,800, making it suitable for many lighting situations.

For action and fast-moving subjects, the S5 IIX supports continuous shooting at full resolution up to 9 fps with the mechanical shutter and up to 30 fps with the electronic shutter. It also uses sensor-shift stabilization and includes a High Resolution mode that combines eight exposures into a single 96MP raw or JPEG image. This mode is best used with static subjects on a tripod and produces highly detailed, color-accurate images at 12,000 x 8,000 pixels.

6K and 4K Video Recording
The S5 IIX is a very capable video tool. It can record full-frame 6K 30p video in 4:2:0 10-bit for up to 30 minutes. Unlimited recording is possible in DCI and UHD 4K 60p 4:2:2 10-bit modes. For slow-motion work, the camera supports 120p recording. RAW HDMI output is available through an optional license upgrade.

V-Log is pre-installed and provides a flat, neutral gamma profile with more than 14 stops of dynamic range. This gives precise control during color grading and allows easy matching with Panasonic VariCam footage. Dual Native ISO, inherited from Panasonic’s broadcast cameras, balances low noise and high sensitivity. Each pixel has two circuits:

• Low ISO circuit: ISO 100 for standard use, ISO 640 with V-Log, ISO 400 with HLG, ISO 200 with Cinelike D2/V2

Phase Hybrid AF System
The S5 IIX is the first Lumix mirrorless body to feature a Phase Hybrid AF system. With 779 phase-detection points, autofocus is fast, precise, and reliable. The system is designed to track subjects in six types of difficult scenes, including low light, strong backlight, and situations with several people in the frame. Whether capturing stills or video, the camera focuses on and maintains the intended subject even in challenging conditions.

Dual I.S. 2 with Active I.S.
For handheld stills, Dual I.S. 2 provides around 6.5 stops of shake compensation for maximum sharpness. For video, the new Active I.S. system improves stabilization specifically for walking shots and moving-camera work, resulting in smoother handheld footage.
