Sky-Watcher Stargate 400P SynScan Go-To is a powerful Newtonian telescope on a Dobsonian mount, designed for experienced visual astronomy enthusiasts who expect maximum optical performance combined with modern computerized control. Its impressive 406 mm (16-inch) aperture delivers exceptional light-gathering power, enabling spectacular views of nebulae, galaxies, star clusters, and fine details on the planets and the Moon. This model is the first in the Stargate series to feature a fully metal, collapsible TRUSS framework. The optical tube can be quickly disassembled for transport and storage, with full setup taking around 30 minutes. A rigid three-point locking system ensures excellent stability and precise collimation, even at high magnifications. The primary mirror is made from borosilicate glass with a lightweight ribbed structure and is coated with Radiant™ Aluminium Quartz (RAQ™), offering reflectivity of up to 94% for bright, high-contrast images.

The alt-azimuth Dobsonian mount is equipped with Go-To drives on both axes and the SynScan system, which includes a database of over 42,900 objects from the Messier, NGC, and IC catalogs. The telescope automatically locates and tracks selected targets. Thanks to Freedom-Find technology, it can also be moved manually without losing alignment or positional data. An integrated Wi-Fi module allows wireless control via the SynScan mobile app on iOS or Android devices.

The Stargate 400P SynScan comes with a precise 2-inch Crayford focuser with fine adjustment, a 9×50 finder scope, a collimation eyepiece, and observation eyepieces with dedicated smartphone adapters. Due to its fast focal ratio (f/4.1) and large size, this telescope is primarily intended for advanced users who can fully exploit its capabilities. High-quality eyepieces are recommended, such as the Pentax XW series, Baader Morpheus, or Tele Vue eyepieces.
