Description

The MAGUS Metal 630 BD Metallurgical Microscope is designed for brightfield, darkfield, and polarization microscopy using reflected light. A powerful 50 W halogen illumination system delivers high-quality images with any objective and across all supported microscopy techniques. The microscope is intended for quality control, microstructure analysis of metals and semiconductors, and the study of opaque specimens. It is widely used in industrial production environments, research laboratories, and university departments.

Optical system

The microscope features a trinocular head with a dedicated trinocular tube for mounting a digital camera (not included). A light path selection knob directs the light either to the eyepieces or to the camera port. The trinocular head is inclined at 30° to ensure comfortable observation during extended work sessions. A diopter adjustment ring is located on the left eyepiece tube for individual vision correction.

The revolving nosepiece accommodates the supplied objectives and leaves one free slot for installing an additional objective if required. All standard objectives are infinity plan achromatic, provide a long working distance, and are optimized for brightfield and darkfield reflected-light microscopy.

Illumination system

For effective darkfield observation, the microscope is equipped with an increased-power 50 W halogen light source. The reflected-light illumination system includes aperture and field diaphragms, a darkfield device, a set of color filters, a built-in analyzer, and a removable polarizer. Both the diaphragms and the light source can be centered, and Köhler illumination can be precisely configured for optimal image contrast and uniformity.

Stage and focusing mechanism

The microscope stand and focusing design allow the examination of specimens of virtually any size and height. Despite this flexibility, the microscope maintains a compact form factor, making it suitable for installation on work surfaces with a maximum height of 40 cm.

Focusing is performed using coaxial coarse and fine focus knobs located on both sides of the microscope body. The system allows smooth, precise focusing, and the coarse focus tension can be adjusted to suit user preference and specimen weight.

Accessories and expandability

A range of optional accessories is available to extend the capabilities of the MAGUS Metal 630 BD. These include additional eyepieces, long working distance objectives for brightfield and darkfield, calibration slides, and digital cameras, enabling customization for specific inspection or research applications.
