SZX16 Stereo Microscope

The SZX16 stereo microscope is engineered for advanced research, materials science, quality control, and failure analysis. It combines ultra-high resolution with an exceptionally wide zoom range and versatile imaging modes, including dark field, fluorescence, and polarization. These capabilities allow users to observe entire specimens—such as organisms or technical components—and seamlessly zoom down to fine microscopic details like individual cell structures or microdefects. The system provides the optical clarity required to observe, document, and reliably identify even the smallest features.

Designed to Meet the Demands of Life Sciences and Materials Science

Developed for high-level laboratory applications, the SZX16 offers a powerful feature set:

  • Excellent resolution of up to 900 line pairs per millimeter with a numerical aperture of 0.3

Modern Stereo Microscope with Outstanding Optical Performance

All optical components of the SZX16—including observation tubes, zoom body, and objectives—are fully apochromatic, minimizing chromatic aberration across the entire magnification range. Super Depth of Field (SDF) lenses deliver sharp, high-contrast images of nearly any sample, from micrometer-scale defects to complex cellular structures.

The maximum numerical aperture of 0.3 delivers a resolution of up to 900 line pairs per millimeter, making fine cellular and sub-cellular details clearly visible. This high resolution and wide magnification range improve efficiency and precision by revealing significantly more information within each sample.

The enhanced resolving power also allows closely spaced or very small features on components to be clearly distinguished, which is essential for high-precision fault analysis and quality control. Microcracks, fractures, scratches, surface contamination, and subtle manufacturing defects that may be invisible at lower resolutions can be reliably detected.

Ultra-High Zoom Ratio of 16.4:1

The SZX16 offers an exceptionally large zoom ratio of 16.4:1, providing magnifications from 7x to 115x with a 1x objective and up to 230x with a 2x objective.

This extensive zoom range makes the microscope suitable for a wide variety of research and analytical tasks. Low magnification enables broad overviews for dissection or sample manipulation, while high magnification provides detailed views of microstructures. In error analysis and quality control, large components or assemblies can be inspected continuously down to micrometer-scale defects such as cracks, scratches, or contamination particles.

The SZX16 can be expanded and customized with a range of optional accessories, including:

SZX2-ILLTQ LED Transmitted Light Base

The SZX2-ILLTQ LED base features an ultra-slim profile of just 41.5 mm, approximately half the thickness of conventional halogen transmitted-light bases. This reduced height improves viewing comfort and provides easier access to samples mounted on the base during operation.

The illumination base includes a quadruple revolver that allows rapid selection and seamless switching between bright field (standard, high, low), oblique illumination (standard, high, low), dark field, polarized light, and shutter settings with a simple turn.

LED illumination keeps the base surface cooler, making it suitable for prolonged observation of living specimens. Compared to traditional 30 W halogen lamps, LED lighting consumes less power and offers a service life exceeding 60,000 hours, significantly reducing operating costs.
