The Sky-Watcher Esprit 150 mm f/7 is the largest model in the Esprit series and represents the flagship refractor in the Sky-Watcher lineup. Designed primarily as a premium astrophotography telescope, this high-end apochromatic triplet refractor delivers exceptional optical performance for both imaging and visual observation.

The telescope features a precision-engineered triplet objective with an integrated threaded field flattener, providing a flat, fully corrected image across the field. Compared with Sky-Watcher's ED doublet refractors, such as the Black Diamond and Equinox series, the Esprit 150 offers significantly higher image quality, improved contrast, and superior correction of optical aberrations.

The objective consists of three elements, including a central extra-low dispersion (ED) lens manufactured from premium Ohara glass. This optical design minimizes spherical aberration, astigmatism, and chromatic aberration while maintaining excellent image sharpness across the entire field of view.

Despite its fast f/7 focal ratio, the Esprit 150 produces images virtually free from off-axis aberrations, distortion, astigmatism, and chromatic fringing.

Esprit APO series

The Sky-Watcher Esprit series includes the following apochromatic refractors:

Each model has been developed as a dedicated astrophotography instrument while also serving as an outstanding visual telescope with excellent contrast, high resolution, a flat field, and complete correction of off-axis optical errors.

The ED optical elements are manufactured by Ohara in Japan, while the remaining optical components use premium Schott glass.

Designed for demanding astrophotographers

The Esprit 150 is equipped with Sky-Watcher's premium 3-inch Linear Power Crayford focuser.

The focuser incorporates:

The telescope provides 100 mm of back focus, allowing heavy CCD or CMOS cameras and accessories to be attached while maintaining excellent optical alignment.

The optical system provides an illuminated image circle of approximately 43 mm, making it suitable for full-frame astrophotography.

Outstanding optical performance

High-quality MHT multi-layer anti-reflection coatings maximize light transmission while reducing internal reflections.

An internal baffle system further suppresses stray light and improves image contrast, producing crisp, high-contrast astronomical images.

For visual observing, the telescope includes a premium 2-inch dielectric star diagonal with approximately 98% reflectivity, delivering bright, high-contrast views of planets, the Moon, and deep-sky objects.
