Description
This is a research-grade microscope designed for observing transparent and translucent biological specimens—including smears and cross-sections—in transmitted light using the brightfield method. By adding optional accessories, the microscope can also support darkfield, phase contrast, fluorescence, and polarization techniques.
A key feature is the coded revolving nosepiece, which keeps brightness comfortable when switching objectives. Intelligent lighting control improves workflow speed and user comfort by reducing the need for constant manual adjustments, allowing the researcher to stay focused on the task.
Microscope head
The microscope is equipped with a trinocular head and infinity-corrected optics. The eyepiece tubes rotate 360°, allowing the user to adjust viewing height for a comfortable posture. A digital camera mounts into the trinocular tube, and light is split 50/50 between the camera and eyepieces.
The standard kit includes 10×/22 mm eyepieces with diopter adjustment and long eye relief, suitable for users who wear glasses.
Revolving nosepiece and objectives
The coded five-position revolving nosepiece is oriented inward, making it easy to see which objective is in the optical path while keeping the space above the stage clear. One slot remains available for an additional objective to extend magnification options. The parfocal height is 60 mm.
A dedicated slot with a plug is located above the nosepiece for inserting an analyzer when polarization accessories are used.
Comfortable brightness when changing magnification
Objectives transmit different light levels, so brightness typically must be adjusted with every objective change. Brightness can also rise sharply when switching from higher to lower magnification, which contributes to eye fatigue.
This microscope includes an intelligent brightness control system that automatically selects the optimal illumination level for each objective. As a result, sudden brightness changes are minimized, eye strain is reduced, and routine magnification changes become faster and more consistent.
Focusing mechanism
Because fine focusing is used frequently during routine work, the microscope is built with a smooth, responsive focusing system to reduce wrist fatigue. The fine focus knob includes finger grooves for secure, comfortable control, making precise adjustments easy during extended sessions.
Coarse and fine focus knobs are coaxial and positioned low on the body so the user can rest hands on the table. A coarse focus lock on the left helps quickly stabilize focus after changing specimens. Coarse focus tension is adjusted using a dedicated ring on the right, allowing the user to set a preferred resistance.
Stage
For improved ergonomics, the stage design does not include an X-axis positioning rack. A belt-driven mechanism provides smooth specimen movement. The specimen holder is secured with two screws and can be removed easily for manual scanning. A long stage control handle supports comfortable operation with the hand resting on the table.
Condenser
The Abbe condenser is height-adjustable and centerable, using a dovetail mount. The condenser ring controls the iris aperture diaphragm. The condenser body includes aperture markings, and the ring has an index marker. For best contrast, the user aligns the index marker with the aperture marking that corresponds to the objective in use.
Illumination
The transmitted-light illuminator uses a 3 W LED. In addition to brightness control, the microscope allows color temperature adjustment from 3000 to 7000 K, letting the user choose lighting that is comfortable for the eyes and switch quickly when the specimen requires a different illumination tone. The LED is rated for 50,000 hours of operation.
Köhler illumination in transmitted light
The light source is located in the base at the rear of the microscope, and illumination is directed to the collector via a mirror. Contrast is controlled through the condenser aperture diaphragm, and the illuminated field is regulated using the collector field diaphragm.
Köhler illumination improves image quality by enabling maximum objective resolution, providing even illumination across the field of view, preventing edge darkening, and minimizing image artifacts.
LCD status display
An LCD screen on the base shows objective magnification, brightness, and the selected color temperature, as well as operating modes such as eco and sleep. Using the screen and control knob, the user can adjust brightness, select color temperature, lock brightness settings, and configure the sleep mode and auto-off timer.
Ergonomic design
Ergonomics are a central part of the design to reduce fatigue and maintain productivity. By rotating the microscope head, the user can choose a comfortable viewing height to reduce strain on the neck and back. Low-positioned focusing knobs minimize hand strain, and the stage control handle and fine focus knob are placed within the same working zone to reduce unnecessary hand movement.
A dedicated carrying handle is included. The power adapter and cord are stored in a concealed arrangement, improving safety, workplace organization, and ease of transport and storage.
Accessories
A wide range of compatible accessories is available. Optional objectives and eyepieces extend magnification options. Phase contrast, reflected-light illumination, darkfield condensers, and polarization components expand contrast techniques and enable observation of structures that may be difficult to see in brightfield. A digital camera can display images on a monitor, store files, and support real-time measurement through software. Calibration slides support accurate measurement and can be used with scaled eyepieces or camera software.
