Magus Metal 630 Metallurgical Microscope (82898)

The MAGUS Metal 630 metallurgical reflected-light microscope is designed for examining the microstructure of opaque specimens of any height and size. Optical system

The microscope features infinity-corrected optics. A vertically positioned trinocular tube is provided for mounting a digital camera, allowing the light path to be directed either to the eyepieces or to the camera port. A camera is not included in the standard configuration.

The binocular head, inclined at 30°, ensures comfortable observation during extended sessions. A diopter adjustment ring on the left eyepiece allows precise correction to match the user’s eyesight.

The revolving nosepiece has five objective slots. Four plan achromatic objectives are included, leaving one free slot for an optional objective. These objectives feature a long working distance and are optimized for brightfield reflected-light microscopy.

Illumination system

The microscope operates exclusively with reflected light illumination. The illumination system includes a polarization device, aperture diaphragm, and field diaphragm. Illumination is provided by a 30 W halogen bulb, which emits warm, eye-friendly light suitable for prolonged work.

Both the diaphragms and the light source can be centered, and the microscope supports Köhler illumination. A set of color filters is included for improved contrast and color balance.

Stage and focusing mechanism

The specially designed stand and focusing system offer two key benefits: a compact footprint and the ability to examine specimens of unlimited height. The microscope can be placed on laboratory furniture with a maximum height of 40 cm.

A two-axis mechanical stage is used for working with smaller samples. Focusing is controlled using coaxial coarse and fine focus knobs located on both sides of the stand. The focusing mechanism operates smoothly and precisely, and coarse focus tension can be adjusted to suit user preference.

Accessories and expandability

The microscope can be expanded with optional accessories, including long working distance objectives, additional eyepieces, digital cameras, and calibration slides, allowing customization for specific inspection or research tasks.
