These are safe, full aperture solar filters, sometimes called clear aperture filters. They are designed to allow the maximum amount of light into the telescope by making use of the full aperture. This provides the best possible daytime viewing, especially when atmospheric turbulence is minimal. If turbulence is present, a mask can be placed over the end of the filter to effectively reduce the aperture. This premium solar filter features an aluminum cell that is secured and centered on the end of the telescope tube with nylon thumb screws and felt padding.
