The AM7 is ZWO’s most powerful mount, built around an industry-standard strain wave gear. This design makes the mount exceptionally compact while remaining extremely robust. It can carry up to 20 kilograms without counterweights, making it ideal for mobile astrophotography. For permanent or stationary setups, optional counterweights can be added, increasing the maximum load capacity to 30 kilograms. Both axes use stepper motors with toothed belts in the primary gear system.
