The SBFL (Short Back-Focal Length) models are designed for users of DSLR lenses or anyone who requires a short back focal length. The ASI 294MM is the first uncooled CMOS camera to feature the new Sony IMX492 sensor. This camera is ideal for imaging the Sun, Moon, and planets, as well as deep sky objects such as nebulae and galaxies. It uses Sony’s advanced back-illuminated sensor technology to deliver outstanding sensitivity. With 4.6 µm pixels, the ASI 294MM is a true all-rounder, offering excellent sensitivity even with very short exposure times. For even higher resolution, the camera can be used in "unlocked mode," reducing the pixel size to 2.3 µm.

The ZWO ASI 585MM Mono camera features a large sensor with high sensitivity, excellent resolution, and a fast frame rate. This makes it ideal for planetary imaging, as well as for capturing detailed images of the Sun and Moon, and even for deep sky objects. Equipped with the modern Sony IMX585 sensor, the camera delivers high resolution with 2.9µm pixels, a high frame rate, and zero amplifier glow. This combination makes the camera suitable not just for planets, the Sun, and the Moon, but also for long-exposure deep sky photography.
